First Indian Presbyterian Cemetery is located on the Clearwater River in Idaho county. To reach the cemetery, cross the bridge at Kamiah and follow US Highway 12 upriver a few miles. On the left you will see the old church with the cemetery behind. The church is the second oldest church in Idaho having been started a year or two after the mission was founded at Lapwai. It is also one of the sites in the Nez Perce National Park. The cemetery was first copied in June of 1971 by Margaret Nell Longteig and Shelley Thomason (now Shelley Kuther) with 212 entries. It was recopied in fall of 2003 by Carol Anglen with Kristin Frish proof reading. There were 320 entries. Entries made during the first copying are entered even if not seen in 2003. (Not all burials are Indian)
