Mrs. John A. Bentley

Dies After Operation

  Mrs. Mary Pearl Bentley, wife of John A. Bentley, who resides at the point near Lake Tolo, died at Cottonwood hospital Monday evening, March 2, 1942, following an operation.  She had been in poor health for some time.

  Mary Pearl Troeh was born at Somerville, Oregon, November 5, 1887, and came to Idaho county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Troeh, at the age of seven years.  In 1908 she was married to John A. Bentley.  Beside her husband, she is survived by three sons, Fred and Harold at home, and Robert, now on furlough from the army; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Simon and Mrs. Norma Tefft, Grangeville; one sister, Mrs. Charles Gill, of Grangeville; one brother, Roy Troeh, Grangeville; an aunt, Mrs. Lucy McMahan, Council, Idaho, and nine grandchildren.

  Mrs. Bentley was a member of the Rebekahs, Neighbors of Woodcraft, and the Grange.

  Funeral services were held Thursday March 5, at 2:00 p.m., from the Hancock Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Jasper C. Havens officiating.  Interment was in Prairie View cemetery.  Pallbearers were Guy Sherwin, Walter Cash, Cy Overman, Ray Church, Dewey Cowgill and Warren Palmer.
