Thomas Clay

Last Friday, August 13, the body of Thomas Clay, an old pioneer in this section, was found floating in Goose Creek, on Salmon meadows.  He had been cutting hay at the Shepherd’s place and apparently had a heart attack.

Mr. Clay came to Idaho in the early ‘60’s, carried the mail from Meadows to Warrens in the ‘70’s and in ’79 married Katherine Odborne in Warrens.  They settled in Little Salmon Meadows and have resided there since.

Thomas Clay and Fred Burgdorf knew each other in Germany, but Mr. Clay refused to speak German after coming to this country.

The funeral was held from his late residence and was largely attended
