Walter H. Farris Passes At Kooskia

July 31, 1955

Walter H. Farris, 51, of Kooskia, died suddenly Sunday morning at Kamiah from a heart attack.  Mr. Farris was born September 9, 1903 at Grangeville.  He received his schooling in the vicinity of Grangeville and when 20 years old, moved to Seattle where he followed the construction trade.  In 1946 he returned to this area and had lived at Grangeville and Kooskia, working as a carpenter.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Lee, of California and Michael of Grangeville.  Also surviving are his mother, Elizabeth Ruark of Kooskia; three sisters, Katherine Fogg, of Seattle; Vivian Eppers, of Lewiston; Betty Klink, of Boise, and one brother, Rex Farris of Craigmont.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Robertson Funeral Chapel at Grangeville with the Rev. John F. Rice officiating.  Interment was at the Fairview cemetery.
