DEATH OF S.S. FENN

Hon. Stephen S. Fenn died at Blackfoot December 8, 1892, aged 72 years.  He was born in Connecticut and spent his younger days in New York.  In his last address at the pioneer reunion at Mt. Idaho some four years ago he gave many reminiscences of his life in Michigan and Minnesota.  In 1850 he came to California and followed the mining excitement to Florence.  He was a member of the first territorial legislature of Idaho and was re-elected several times.  He was twice elected to congress and in 1868 was appointed register of the Lewiston land office.  Some years since his mind became enfeebled and he was finally placed in the asylum for the insane at Blackfoot where he died.  He was buried in Blackfoot temporarily, and in the spring it is his son Frank's intention to have the remains removed to the family lots in the cemetery in Mt. Idaho.
