WORLD WAR VETERAN DIES

ROBERT VIRGIL GOAN, 49, died in the Veteran's hospital in Boise, September 18, following illness of four years duration. Funeral services were held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. from the Hancock Funeral Home with the Rev. John F. Rice officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Idaho Cemetery in charge of Grangeville Post #37 American Legion of which he was a member.
Robert V. Goan was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Goan in Mt. Vernon, Oregon, Nov. 24, 1888. He grew to manhood in this community. When his country needed his services during the World War, he took up arms with his comrades in its defense. After the war he returned home where he had spent much of his time until overcome by ill health.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Goan, Mt. Idaho; five sisters; Mrs. Ida Earp, Mrs. Ruth Pollan, Mrs. Georgia Dean, of Grangeville; Mrs. Ellen Leavenhagen of San Francisco, Ca.; Mrs. Leora Ritz, Lewiston, Idaho; two brothers, Ralph and James Goan of Grangeville.
