J. Rex Harris, 48 Dies At Lucille

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) for J. Rex Harris, 48, Nampa, who died Monday at Lucille of an apparent heart attack. Services will be held at the Hansen Funeral Chapel in Grangeville with the Rev. James Greer, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be Prairie View Cemetery.
He was born August 20, 1920 at Grangeville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Harris. He received his education in Grangeville and served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was married to Mabel Bryant at Grangeville on June 26, 1944. For several years he worked on the Spencer Ranch on the Snake River and in 1954 became a professional packer at Dixie. At the time of his death he was employed by Christianson Brothers Ranch.
He is survived by his widow at the family home in Nampa; one son, Michael and a daughter, Joni, at the family home, and a daughter, Karen of Lowan, Idaho; two brothers, Wesley of Grangeville and Kenneth of Olympia, Washington; and one sister, Mrs. Edgar (Geneva) Klaus of Spokane, Washington.
