Mrs. Mary Irwin, who was well known in and about Grangeville, passed away December 21, 1915.  Mrs. Irwin was born in Gernsy county, Ohio, January 9, 1845 and was there united in marriage to Thomas C. Irwin.  Eight children were born to them being four girls and four boys.  The children living are Mrs. E.E. Wann, Mrs. P.G. Jessy, Mrs. G.J. Smith, W.T. Irwin, C.S. Irwin and R.H. Irwin.

The family moved from Ohio to Missouri in 1876 and then in 1883 to Arkansaw, and thence to Idaho in 1899 where they have since resided.

The body was brought to the home of the son, W.T. Irwin, where the funeral services were held.  The federated church quartet furnished the music and Robert Edward Gornall the local minister preached the sermon.  The interment was at the local cemetery.  The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved husband and family.
