Bertha F. Kopczynski, 82
Bertha F. Kopczynski, 82, of Cottonwood died Nov. 11, 2005, in
an automobile accident near Winchester.
She was the seventh child born Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 30,
1922, in Greencreek, Ill., to Henry and Catherine Schmidt Hoene. She attended
elementary school in Greencreek and helped her mother manage the family farm
during the depression. Bertha and her mother traveled to Idaho in 1944 to visit
Hoene relatives. It was at that time that she met her future husband, Stanley.
They fell in love, corresponded through the mail for months, and were married on
Oct. 30, 1945. in Greencreek, Ill. She adjusted to married life in Idaho and
began a long career in homemaking and motherhood. She raised 10 children while
being active in her church and community. She was a lifelong communicant of St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Cottonwood.
