Jacob William Matthiesen, 88, died at his home in Modesto, Calif., December 30, 1941, according to information received here. He was well known in Idaho county as he resided near Cottonwood from 1891 until 1921. A native of Germany, Matthiesen came to this county when he was 15 years of age. He had resided near Modesto for the past 20 years, being engaged in farming. Besides a widow, Mrs. Emily Matthiesen of Modesto, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Anna Oesau of Modesto, and a son, H. C. Matthiesen of Lewiston, Idaho. He was a grandfather of Loyal and Clarence Oesau of Modesto, Raymond Matthiesen of Long Beach, Hobart Matthiesen of Lewiston, Idaho, and Mrs. Elza Oaksmith of Ketchikan, Alaska.

Additional Comments: For researching--I am sorry I got the wrong month of death for Jacob as it is Dec. 30, 1941
