FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 1888

DIED - Death of Lieut. Muhlenburg - Friday's stage brought word of Lieut. Muhlenburg at Lewiston on Tuesday, April 10, of cerebro-spinal-meningitis.  He was 1st Lieut. of Co. B 2nd Inf. U.S.A. and came to Idaho with his company from Georgia at the outbreak of the NezPerce war in 1877, in which he and his company took an active part.  He was stationed at Camp Howard until the post was abandoned, and was thence transferred to Lapwai, Boise Barracks and Ft. Leavenworth, and was on a 6 month furlough at the time of his death.  He leaves a wife and one son, and many friends to mourn his sudden death.
