  Another Pioneer Crosses

Silas W. Reynolds died at the residence of Alex Robinson on Camas prairie, on January 7, 1899, aged 55 years.  “Syke” had been confined with pleuro-pnemonia but his condition was not considered serious, although Dr. Bibby was in constant attendance.

“Syke” was born in Virginia and came west in 1864 and mined in Warrens for two years, raised stock on Slate Creek and has resided on Camas prairie ever since.  Many and many a destitute family has been relieved in its hour of adversity by his generosity, night after night he spent sitting with and nursing the sick out of the pure love in his great heart.
