DECEMBER 14, 1882

We are informed by private letter that two men were murdered by the Sheepeaters about the last of September, on the Middle Fork of Salmon river.

The two men were prospectors and were in this camp early in September to get fresh supplies.  Their names were Scavanaugh and Boyer as near as I can recollect.
