Death claims E.R. Sherwin.

E.R. Sherwin died at the home of his son in Grangeville, February 23, 1903, at the advanced age of 82 years.  He was born in New York and when a young man went to Illinois and married, removing to California in 1861.  In 1863 he was attracted to Idaho by the gold excitement at Florence and Warren and followed mining in different parts of the county for many years.  He brought his family to Lapwai in 1872 and in 1875 moved to Salmon river where he resided until declining years made it necessary to give up active work.  Mrs.. Sherwin died in 1899 and since that time he has made his home with his children.  He was one of Idaho county's most respected citizens whose life has spent in upbuilding the country he chose for a home and he goes to his last resting place with love and esteem.
