ANNA BELLE TAYLOR

     Mrs. Anna Taylor, wife of Frank L. Taylor, stockman of Salmon River, died at the home of her son, Josh Alkire, at Riggins Monday, January 15.  Mrs. Taylor was born in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, in 1865.  She came west to the Salmon river country in 1880, and in 1883 was married to George Alkire.  To this union four children were born, two of whom still survive, George L. and Josh Alkire, both of Riggins.

     Mr. Alkire passed away in 1916, and in 1922 she was married to Frank L. Taylor.  Besides her husband and two sons she is survived by five step-children; Maurine Anscomb and miss Tryphena Taylor, both of Los Angeles; Lester Taylor, Joseph; Everett and Evan Taylor of White Bird; fourteen grand-children and seven great grand children.

     Funeral services were held at the home of Tony Gordon at John Day, Tuesday afternoon, under auspices of the Hancock Funeral Home, and burial was in the John Day cemetery.  Rev. Sydney A. Walker officiated at the services.
