John H. Thomas whose farm joins Mr. Eckerts place on Stock Creek, was accidentally killed Tuesday afternoon. (June 14, 1887) Deceased was hauling shakes from the mountain when the team ran away, throwing him off the wagon and under the wheels, one of which passed over the head, killing him instantly.  He came here in 1880, and was a very steady and industrious man, and had his half-section ranch well improved.  He was a single man and his parents reside in Kansas.
