Killed in Auto Plunge

Herbert Valley, 26, was killed instantly Saturday morning when his car left the Greer grade just below the Chapin Cedar Co. pole yard.  Officers reported that Valley failed to make the turn and his car careened from the road over the steep mountain side.  He was thrown out against a rock and his skull and face crushed.  He was a logging time keeper.
