DIED (SUICIDE) - Michael Welch.  Last Friday a young man named Michael Welch, about 30 years of age, hailing from Colton W.T., arrived in this city and remained here until Saturday afternoon.  In the meantime indulging in liquid luxuries to a considerable extent but not sufficient to attract particular notice.  In the afternoon of Saturday, he concluded to return to Colton, and with that purpose boarded Silcott's Ferry.  when the ferry had proceeded a few lengths from shore, he approached the apron, threw up his hands and saying "Good Bye boys", plunged into the Clearwater.  The ferryboat passing partially over him.  The headway of the boat was immediately stopped and he soon appeared on the surface but made no attempt to save himself and before it was possible to render him assistance he sank out of sight for the last time.
