DIES OF HEART ATTACK

WHEN CAR BECOMES STALLED

  Ben Wilcox, long time resident of Grangeville vicinity died Wednesday about noon from a heart attack. He had been living at the Walter Cash home and was endeavoring to get his car out of a snowdrift when the attack occurred.

  Coroner R.M. Buttermore and sheriff Bud Taylor were called and went to the scene with considerable difficulty.

RITES HELD FOR

BENJAMIN WILCOX

 

  BENJAMIN FRANKLIN WILCOX died January 23 at the Walter Cash ranch in the Tolo Lake District, where he had been living for the past two years.

  Mr. Wilcox was born October 7, 1890, in Mehema, Ore., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bela Wilcox. He spent the early years of his life in Kendrick, where he received his grade and high school education. He then moved to Moscow where he attended the University of Idaho. In 1912 Mr. Wilcox  married Laura B. Cash at Grangeville. They later separated.

  Mr. Wilcox worked for several years at Mullan. During World War II, he worked as an engineer at Pasco, and at the conclusion of the war returned to Idaho to work for the State Highway Department as an engineer.

  He is survived by a son Harold Wilcox, Denver; one grandchild; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Wilcox were held Saturday at the Robertson-Hansen funeral chapel. Rev. R.J. Kennedy officiated. Interment was in the Prairie View Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Virgil Manring, Jim Altman, Manford Cash, Floyd Davis, Lester Wilkins, Bert Sherwin. Esther Von Bargen sang and played appropriate music.
