GRADUATE OF LOCAL HIGH MISSING AT SPOKANE

Virginia Persons, niece of Mrs. Verdie White, primary teacher in the Grangeville schools, and a graduate of the local high school three years ago, was reported missing from her quarters at the Deaconess hospital in Spokane, late Monday night last week.

About 10 p.m. a line inspector of the S.U.R reported to police that he had seen a woman floating in the water just  ? Spokane ?????? (unreadable line)

Be seen for 100 yards or so below the falls.  Two hours later the hospital supervisor called detectives to report that the young student nurse was missing.

Detectives were told that Miss Persons left a note for her sister, asking her to destroy a diary, that she had an important appointment, and for her sister to take care of her clothes.

Police believe that the young nurse committed suicide, although no good and sufficient reason therefore has been found to date.  At this time no further trace of the missing girl has been found.
