FERDINAND
ENTERPRISE - JULY 13, 1916 The Convicts Caught
Near Arrow The two convicts, James Davis and Geo. Smead, who escaped from the state highway camp at Whitebird June 4th and who had rather terrorized the mountain section for several weeks thereafter, were captured July 2nd by Sheriff Lydon, Lewiston and four other officers, near Arrow Junction. It appears one of the boys was out rustling berries, while the other was watching camp when the capture was effected. They have since been returned to the Boise state pen. |
