PRESS MAY 19, 1899 Harry Cone sends word that a man was found drowned in the river between Robie and Smith’s ranch and Bailey Chamberlain’s place near White Bird. The deceased appeared to be about 70 years of age and had no papers, but cash in the sum of $8.50. The body bore traces of having been in the water a long time, dark complexion, five feet 6 inches, heavy set, and wore a Mackinaw coat and German sox. |
