Death Takes W.W. Cash Pioneer
Funeral services for William Warder Cash, 84, who died February 21 in the
Grangeville General Hospital were held Tuesday from the Robertson-Hansen Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. William G. Berney of the Grangeville Community Church
officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
Mr. Cash was born February 6, 1875 at Mt. Vernon, Indiana, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph A. Cash. He came to this area with his father when he was nine years
old. He farmed south of Grangeville most of his life. On March 8, 1903, he was
united in marriage to Mary Alice Halford. Mrs. Cash died in 1952.
Mr. Cash is survived by one son, Frank R. Cash, Grangeville; three daughters,
Mrs. Doris Andrews and Mrs. Rebecca Edwards, both of Grangeville, and Mrs. Alma
Zornes, Barney, California; one brother, Elmer Cash, White Bird, Idaho; 19
grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Esther Von Bargen offered the sacred music.
Mr. Cash's nephews, Eugene Warden, Jay Warden, Justin Warden, Vance Cash, Walter
Cash, and Warren Parks served as pallbearers and a seventh nephew, Dick Warden,
drove the flower car
