Obituary: August 31, 1903

G.H. Farris, a pioneer of this county, died at the home of his son, F.H. Farris, monday at the age of 74 years.  The deceased was one of the best known and highly esteemed citizens of our county and was always foremost in the upbuilding of the country he had chosen for his home.  He left a grown family of eight children all of whom except George, live in this state.  They are William, R.H., Major, George, Frank, Rolley, Mrs. Ida Fagan, and Mrs. Laura Blakley.  The remains were laid to rest at the Fairview cemetery Wednesday.  Rev. C.T. McDonald conducting the funeral services.
