COTTONWOOD CHRONICLE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28, 1928 Mrs. Elizabeth Hoene, aged mother of John and Joseph Hoene, passed away at her home in Keuterville on Christmas morning after a short illness and was buried from the Catholic church at that place yesterday morning at 8 o'clock, the funeral being very largely attended. The deceased was born in Oldenburg, Germany, on August 7, 1849 and was 79 years, 4 months and 19 days of age at the time of her death. She came to this country in 1860 and settled in Illinois, where she was married and lived for man years and where all of her children were born. In 1910 she removed to Idaho and has resided in Cottonwood and Keuterville since that time. She suffered a sick spell about eight months ago but recovered and had been in very good health until about a week before her death, when she was stricken with the flu and gradually failed until death came to her relief. She was the mother of seven children; Katie Hoene, of Keuterville; John Hoene, of Cottonwood; Joseph and Frank Hoene, of Keuterville; Henry Hoene of Illinois, deceased; Mary Hoene, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Lizzie Uhlenkott, of Keuterville. The deceased was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and a woman who stood high in the esteem of her many friends. The sorrowing relatives have the deep sympathy of many friends in their loss.
CARD OF THANKS We desire to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of those who so kindly assisted us during the death and burial of our dear mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoene. We especially wish to thank Father Martin and Father Michael, who so kindly assisted dear mother with their spiritual help and good cheer during her last and former illness. The children. |
