Mrs. Lee Smith, Mt. Idaho, has received word of the death of her brother- in-law, Alfred Hovey, former Idaho county resident at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. D. McLean, in southern California. Hr. Hovey, who is also an uncle of "Boss" Brown, was 83 years of age at the time of his passing. He came to Mt. Idaho in 1878 from Washington, D.C., and left the Camas Prairie 44 years ago, making his home in Lewiston where he was street commissioner for several years. From there he moved to a farm near Kooskia where his wife passed away in the year of 1917. He also lost a daughter, Ada, in 1915. Two daughters and one son survive: Mrs. Lena Wenrick, Mrs. Helen MacLean and Dick Hovey, all living in California.
