Death Removes Mrs. Belle Huff
Mrs. Belle Huff passed away at 7:15 Wednesday morning at General hospital, where
she had entered a few days before. She had previously been a patient at General
hospital and at a Spokane hospital.
Mrs. Huff was born August 28, 1891 at Dewey Flat, Mont., the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James H. Mitchell. In 1895 the family moved to near Republic, Wash., and
came to Stites in 1902, where Mrs. Huff continued her schooling. Later the
family moved to a farm north of Grangeville.
September 21, 1911, she married Will Huff, and the couple farmed north of town
and in 1918 bought their present spread in the same vicinity. Mr. Huff died
March 21, 1954.
Mrs. Huff was a member of the Community Church of Grangeville, the Stites
Rebekah Lodge of which she was a past grand matron, Mt. Queen Chapter Order of
Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and L.A.P.M. at Lewiston.
Survivors include one son, Earl Huff and a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Beardemphl of
Grangeville; two grandsons, Bobby Beardemphl and Willard Huff, and one
granddaughter, Audrian Huff, and one nephew, Cornelius Nail, Long Beach, Calif.
Services will be held at Robertson Funeral Chapel Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m.
with Dr. Guy L. Roberts, officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View
Cemetery.

Last Rites Saturday For Mrs. Belle Huff
The Robertson Funeral Chapel was filled to overflowing Saturday with friends who
gathered to pay their last respects to Mrs. Belle Huff. Mrs. Huff died May 2 at
the General Hospital after a long illness. Dr. Guy L. Roberts was the officiate,
Mrs. Jack Heartburg sang hymns accompanied by Myrna Inghram at the piano. Active
and honorary pallbearers were members of Lewiston Canton No. 17 and the Ladies
Auxiliary. Mt. Queen Chapter OES conducted committal services.
