FLORENCE MINER MISSING – Jerry Seaburg’s Cabin Burned; Owner Believed Perished in Flames

(Special Dispatch)

GRANGEVILLE :

Miners residing near the old camp of Florence, in this county, report the probable death of Jerry Seaburg, the sole resident of Florence.  A few days ago miners discovered that Seaburg’s cabin had recently burned to the ground.  The old miner has not been seen nor heard from since and fears are entertained that he perished in the flames or has become lost in the mountains.

The old mining camp of Florence is practically deserted this winter and Seaburg’s nearest neighbor lived several miles distant.  Seaburg has been ill for some months and it is thought likely that he has perished.
