Submitted by Deb Starr IDAHO COUNTY FREE PRESS Oct 7, 1926 STUDENT DIES OF APPENDICITIS Thomas Rex Stewart, sophomore in the Grangeville high school, and son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Stewart of the Tolo section died at the home of his parents Monday, October 4, of appendicitis. An operation was performed by local physicians, but the rupture of the appendix was too far gone. Thomas Rex Stewart was born near Grangeville December 2, 1912. He was large for his age, and looked and acted like a boy several years his senior. He was a consciencious student and was well liked by both teachers and pupils. His demise is very much to be regretted and his sorrowing parents and other relatives have the sympathy of the entire country. The funeral service was held in the I.O.O.F. hall and was attended by a large crowd among which were his fellow students in the local school. Rev. Barber officiated and burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery. |
