GEORGE BROWNLEE’S SLAYER CAUGHT |
A
dispatch from Grangeville says: Thomas
Myers, who killed George Brownlee and wounded Wallace Jarrett near
Whitebird Wednesday afternoon, reached here this afternoon
in charge of Sheriff Seay. Myers
was captured near Pittsburg Landing by Deputy Sheriff Ray Gordon of
Whitebird and Fred Reed. He
made no opposition to arrest, claiming he was on his way to Grangeville to
give himself up.

MURDERER LYNCHED NEAR
WHITE BIRD IN IDAHO |
Spokane, June 2 – A special to the Spokesman-Review from Grangeville,
Idaho, says: T.M. Meyers,
who killed George Brownlee and wounded Wallace Janett (Jarrett) near
Crook’s corral three weeks ago, was taken from a party of officers
when near White Bird this morning and lynched.
The lynchers were masked and outnumbered the officers three to
one. The officers rode on
to Grangeville. The method
of death is not known. Myers
was being taken to the county jail when the lynching party over took the
officers.
