Young to Stand Trial
Sheriff Green, Attorney Bartlet and Coroner Irvin held an
inquest over the body of Fred Morris in Warren who was killed last week by Jack
Young. There was no justice of the
peace at Warren and the prisoner was brought to Florence and given a hearing
before Justice Moon.
Young was charged with murder in the second degree and held
under $1,500 bond. It is only a few
weeks until court convenes and the prisoner was taken to Grangeville, to await
trial. Ruby Walker, the woman over
whom the trouble arose, was also brought out and is being held as a witness.
She is from Boise where it is said she left a husband and a child.
SEPT. 7, 1905
Sid Robbins, a pioneer of Warren has gone out as a witness
in the Young case. Wm. Kelly accompanies him.
SEPT 14, 1905
District Court
The case against J.W. Young was given to the jury about
noon Tuesday and after nine hours of deliberation brought in a verdict of not
guilty. The prisoner was greatly
overcome and would have fallen to the floor but for the assistance of Attorney
McNamara.
